He has been making his mark on countless musical affairs since long before the fall of the Wall, with The Golden Showers, Peaches, Oum Shatt, Driver &Driver, Die Türen, Jens Friebe, to name but a few. With his fulminant live shows, he has become an established figure in the international music scene. Carried by an always propulsive rhythm, Chris Imler produces music with unusual beats and samples that can be reminiscent of DAF, Suicide or the late Brian Eno. The lyrics oscillate between Dada and social criticism. It’s all in the tradition of the more experimental and electronic side of post-punk in which Imler and his unique groove are rooted. His latest album „Operation Schönheit“ was released on Fun In The Church in early 2022, the warm album production by Benedikt Frey of RIO-label fame subverts its own beauty with a multitude of clanking and ingling synth sounds.
