Saba Lou
Saba Lou was born in Kassel, Germany. She released her debut single on Rob’s House records from Atlanta, Georgia when she was just 6 years old about her first day at school after moving to Berlin. “Good habits & Bad” was recorded when she was 9 years old and released on Seth Bogart’s “Wacky Wacko” label a few years later. The song was chosen as the outro music for Cartoon Network’s tv show “Clarence” and was later used by Rihanna as a commercial for her fashion company Fenty. When Saba Lou was 16 she released her debut album “Planet Enigma” and began playing solo concerts all over Europe. Her follow up record “Novum Ovum” featured a band she assembled out of Berlin’s finest musicians notably Oskar Wald (underground comic book artist and leader of Chuck-a-Muck), Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak and Omri Gondor (both members of the Gondors). Saba Lou performs in many different languages, and even performed live on Marc Riley’s (The Fall) radio show on the BBC 6 Radio. She resides in Berlin where she studies Kung Fu, Meditation and biochemistry. Her fascination with science fiction has launched yet another trajectory and where she will go with this may be above and beyond the minds of her very loyal fanbase. She has also sung back ups with the Sun Ra Arkestra on a track called “Tribute to The Pharaoh’s Den” which was featured on Iggy Pop’s BBC radio show. She was raised on Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Punk, Spiritual Space Jazz and classic Rock n’ Roll. Her etherial voice and powerful lyrics make her music as well as her performance a timeless vortex of harmony and philosophy, where one is stunned into the notion that there is still hope yet for this earth and Mother Nature to heal and be saved.
Saba Lou wurde in Kassel geboren. Sie veröffentlichte ihre Debüt-Single als sie erst 6 Jahre alt war – über ihren ersten Schultag nach dem Umzug nach Berlin. Ihre zweite Single, “Good Habits and Bad“ wurde aufgenommen als sie 9 war und wurde für den Abspann der Cartoon Network Serie “Clarence“ gewählt, und später von Rihanna für einen Werbespot ihrer Marke Fenty genutzt. Als Saba Lou 16 war veröffentlichte sie ihr erstes Album, “Planet Enigma“ und begann in ganz Europa Solo Konzerte zu spielen. Für ihre zweite Platte, “Novum Ovum“ (2019) rekrutierte sie aus Berlins Garage-Punk und Jazz-Szenen drei ihrer guten Freunde: Oska Wald (underground Comiczeichner, Chuckamuck Frontmann), Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak und Omri Gondor (beide von “The Gondors“). Saba Lou performt auf vielen verschiedenen Sprachen und hat sogar schon auf Marc Riley’s (The Fall) BBC 6 Radio Show gesungen, als sie in England auf Tour war. Sie lebt in Berlin wo sie ihre Zeit zwischen Kung Fu, Meditation und dem Biochemie-Studium aufgeteilt. Sie wuchs auf mit Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Punk, spirituellem Space Jazz und klassischem Rock’n’Roll. Ihre ätherische Stimme und eindrucksvollen Texte machen sowohl ihre Musik als auch ihre Performance einen zeitlosen Vortex voller Harmonie und Philosophie, welcher in einem die Hoffnung für die Heilung der Welt erblühen lässt.
